Casa Turrent 1880
Named for the year the Turrent family entered the tobacco growing business, this is a mature cigar with class, boasting a toasty flavour with pleasant hints of chocolate. Medium full bodied to be enjoyed by experienced smokers that goes perfectly with rum or tequila or even with a freshly brewed coffee in the morning.
Alberto and Alejandro Turrent, owners of Nueva Matacapan de Tabacos S.A. de C.V, are the first family of Mexico's cigar industry. The father-son team not only make some of Mexico's best cigars but are also the largest grower of cigar tobacco in the country. The San Andres Maduro leaf they grow outside of Veracruz is world renowned for its quality, and a variety of their tobaccos are important components in many of America's most premium cigar brands.
To keep the consistency of their flagship Casa Turrent line, Alejandro decided a large factory was not the best place to make the more complex Casaseries.Instead Alejandro took his great-grandfather's house and renovated it to make a boutique factory with 15 people to produce the Casa Turrent series.
