Product Description

The General offers the largest chamber in all of the standard Missouri Meerschaum range. You could consider this as the smaller brother to the General MacArthur, the short shank makes it easier to smoke hand free. The smooth finish is achieved by first sealing the cob, sanding smooth and given a polished surface. Unlike the cheaper cobs, the General is fitted with a longer lasting hardwood plug and can be used with or without 6mm filters (not included)

Corn cobs have a slightly bad reputation, they are seen as the disposable pipe. A cheap alternative to briar and therefore inferior too, but thats not fair at all. The Missouri Meerschaum pipes are made by hand, using specifically bread corn. The porous husk allows for a dryer smoke, absorbing the moisture and like Clay & Meerschaum smokes very cool. Unlike Briar and other wooden pipes, a carbon cake is not required. The first few smokes have a sweet, nutty taste but after that the pipe holds no background flavours and always gives a pure taste to the tobacco. Many blenders (our self's included) use Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob pipes to sample blends, for the neutral taste.

  1. Do not over look a good Cob pipe 5 Star Review

Posted by on 1st Sep 2015

Cannot beat this pipe on price and has performed spot on. Some may look down on the humble Cob, but for me they've allowed me a cheaper way to get into pipe smoking. Yes we'd all like a custom Dagner Poker, but for a pipe that you can test different tobacco's, use every day(something that's changing)and really low maintenance this Cobs wins. Really good smoke too. Now going to be teaming this pipe up with 3 more Cobs so I can rotate them around and allow them to rest.
