Plasencia Alma del Cielo – A Heavenly Experience at New Heights

I was lucky enough to experience the Plasencia Alma del Cielo for the first time at the Ignite Trade Show in May 2025—and it left a lasting impression. A truly fantastic cigar, it stood out as one of the highlights of the show for me.

Grown on the Plasencia family’s most treasured estate, Finca San Julián in Condega, this is the world’s highest elevation cigar, cultivated at an awe-inspiring 1,300 meters above sea level. That rare altitude imparts a unique character and complexity that sets this cigar apart.

The Alma del Cielo begins with a rich, creamy sweetness of marzipan and honey, delicately balanced with subtle hints of nougat. As it develops, earthy undertones come to the fore, with a whisper of orange zest adding a bright nuance. At its core, warm cedar and a return of nougat create a deep, satisfying richness, finishing with an elegant touch of ginger spice that lingers long after the final draw.

This is a cigar that’s as elevated in flavour as it is in origin—a must-try for any aficionado.
