131 or Red Label is an example of how RL Wills was able to produce aromatic tobaccos without the use of excessive casings and use of sugars. While the base may seem the average for a European Aromatic, the choice of leave however tells a different story. A blend of Red & Bright Virginia’s bring a sweet fruity core to the experience. As you would expect Black Cavendish is added to bring some thick and creamy smoke to the mix. Finally some white cube Burley is added, this keeps the smoke cool and acts like a sponge (in conjunction with the Bright Virginias) for the whisky. The blend is finished off with a topping of Single Malt Scottish Whisky.
When you crack the tin open, you are greeted with a delicate whisky aroma and the underlying scent of tobacco. This is carried through into the smoke its self, at the beginning you are treated to a sweet tobacco flavour, with the fruitiness and whisky lingering on the draw. As the smoke continues more of the hay notes come through and a gentle Vanilla is picked out from time to time. All in all this is a great example of how an aromatic can be made to still carry a mainly natural tobacco flavour.
Solani tobaccos are highly praised internationally and sought after by UK pipe connoisseurs. The use of high quality tobaccos gives the Solani blends an old world charm, quality, taste and overall an exceptional smoking experience. Serious tobacco collectors have Solani aging within their growing tobacco cellars.

Once again I bought this based on the product information, and, being a Scotsman, quite fancied the malt whisky flavouring!
It did not let itself down, a great smoke from start to finish, the smell when you crack the tin open is lovely, very reminiscent of a nice, peaty highland malt. Very flavoursome with nice, billowing clouds of smoke that leave a pleasant smell in the room and smokes down to a little grey ash. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes aromatics but also a clean tobacco taste as this has both. I'll definitely buy again.

From the first meeting with the aroma when the tin is opened this tobacco continues its fabulous assault on the senses until only the ash remains.
My favourite by a long way for many reasons.
