The Por Larranaga 47 UK Launch!

On November 1st, the UK witnessed the launch of the latest Habanos Regional Edition, the Por Larrañaga Larrañaga 47. This event took place simultaneously at 47 locations across the country, here at GQ Tobaccos we decided to have a small launch party at the Hippodrome in central London. These coordinated events began at 6:30 pm and covered all four regions of the United Kingdom.

The evening commenced with a brief video introduction from Jemma Freeman, Executive Chairman of Hunters & Frankau, and José Antonio Cejas Diaz, Hunters & Frankau Corporate Director, who introduced the Larrañaga 47 and invited attendees to light their cigars. Por Larrañaga, established in 1834, is the oldest Cuban cigar brand still in production and has been a beloved choice among UK cigar enthusiasts due to its light to medium-bodied blend.

The cigar itself measures 7 inches in length with a 47-ring gauge, often referred to as the "Churchill" size, named in honor of Winston Churchill in the 1950s. The Larrañaga 47 is presented in Semi Boîte Nature (SBN) boxes of fifty cigars, a unique feature among UK Regional Editions. These boxes are adorned with a recreated old papeleta from the brand.

We had a fantastic night sampling the new cigar and everyone was in agreement that this was a fantastic blend, that should hopefully improve even more with age. Unfortunately the cigar paired a bit too well with certain drinks and tehre were a few sore heads in the morning.

A limited production of 1,500 boxes, totaling 75,000 cigars, is exclusively available in the United Kingdom, the initial allocation has been very small and we have sold out of boxes of the Por Larranaga 47. We do have some single available which can be found here https://www.gqtobaccos.com/cigars/por-larranaga-47-uk-regional-edition-single-cigar/ If you would like a full box please email me at sam@gqtobaccos.com and we will do our best to source you one.
