Savinelli St. Nicholas 2026 101 6mm Pipe
The Savinelli St. Nicholas 2026 101 combines the bold proportions of one of Savinelli's most distinctive straight Billiard shapes with the festive styling of the annual St. Nicholas collection. Made in Italy, the 101 is a substantial pipe with plenty of presence, making it an excellent choice for both regular smokers and collectors of Savinelli's seasonal releases.
The 101 is a robust straight Billiard, characterised by its large cylindrical bowl and unusually substantial shank. Savinelli describes the shape as having a spacious tobacco chamber surrounded by a sturdy bowl, giving the pipe its strong and immediately recognisable profile. In Italy, the shape is also known as the "Maigrettona", an association with actor Gino Cervi's portrayal of Inspector Maigret.
For the 2026 St. Nicholas edition, Savinelli finishes the briar in a handsome brown rustication, giving the bowl and shank a rich, tactile appearance. A red acrylic accent band framed by two slim aluminium rings provides the festive detailing, while a beautiful pearlescent green acrylic stem completes the traditional Christmas-inspired colour combination.
Despite its relatively compact 145mm length, the substantial bowl and shank give the 101 a reassuringly solid feel in the hand. The generous 20mm chamber diameter and 42mm chamber depth also provide plenty of tobacco capacity for a relaxed smoke.
