Product Description
Ogdens Gold Block has been a staple with British smokers for decades. This smooth and mellow blend of Virginia and Burley, with a little added sweetness. The thick and fluffy shag cut, makes for easy packing straight from the pouch. In the pipe, this tobacco smokes with a sweet and grassy base taste, with a little spice coming from the Burley used. While this tobacco is great on its own, mix 50/50 with St Bruno creates a tobacco loved by many all over the world. Great all-day tobacco

Having struggled with tongue-bite for a long time with many tobaccos, I was pleasantly surprised how nice Gold Block is to smoke. Unlike some reviewers, I find GB smokes coolly and slowly, with absolutely no bite. Moisture levels straight out of the packet are good, but 10 mins drying makes it perfect. It's very mild and balanced, and the sugar casting adds a little sweetness without being cloying.
