Peterson have purchased the Dunhill blend recipes, and are made in the same factory as previous Dunhill blends so you can now enjoy your old favourites again!
This classic English VaPer (Virginia & Perique blend) is first pressed into large flake, before being rolled by hand into a large tube and finally sliced. The Virginias are from Africa and Brazil produce a divine grassy/hay taste which acts as a backdrop for the spicy Perique flavours.
As soon as you open the tin you are greeted with a figgy aroma, with a gentle hint of cut grass. This alluring scent is matched by the presentation of the disk, spiralling around the inside of the vacuum packed tins.
The most common method of packing a spun cut tobacco is the “fold & stuff” technique, resulting in a slower and cooler smoke. Like any flake tobaccos, you can rub the coins out before packing; this makes it easier to light, but can make the smoke a little hot.
An all time classic with oodles of aging potential, give this blend 5 years and it will blow you away. One of the best VaPer tobaccos in production.

So, I have a special place for this one as it was shown to me by a friend who is no longer with us. Aside from the sentimental place in my heart. This is so nice to smoke. No heavy toppings or anything like that. Unadulterated quality. Very nice to spend some time nursing a pipe in the evening while thinking. Not offensive at all. The blend is top shelf. My favourite for neat, straight up tobacco. The perique is the the champagne of tobaccos. This mix is a must try. It’s strong, I would say. And very nice. If you haven’t tried it. It is a treat worth buying. Peterson’s best. I keep coming back anyway. Chances are you will too.

Follows on from Cope's Escudo & Dunhill Navy Cut Rolls. All in all very good. There has never been a substitute for Bells' Three Nuns but the above is as good as you'll get. I agree very much with the other review.

I've been trying out various VaPer tobaccos recently and this is one I keep coming back to. The grassiness and hay flavours from the Virginias is well balanced by the touch of spiciness from the Perique.
I generally rub out the coins before packing but I've never had any problem with it burning hot. It doesn't bite, even if pushed, and needs only the usual number of re-lights. Leaves very little moisture or dottle in the pipe.
