A few years back whilst on a Tor Tour to Nicaragua with several other retailers, I became good friends with James from Mitchells Wines in Sheffield. Since then we have met up at many cigar events and reminisced over our time there. James struck up a great friendship with Nick Perdomo and since then Nick has agreed to make an own blend cigar for Mitchell's Wines to celebrate their 90th Anniversary. As James you knew I was a big fan of Perdomo Cigars he was kind enough to distribute them to ourselves so the GQ Customers could experience this fantastic cigar! We received a phone call from our fantastic distributor Tor, sharing the exciting news that a cigar maker would be visiting us. We were overjoyed!
During the visit, we enjoyed some incredible cigars with the Nick & Janine, while indulging in Sheffield’s famous Beres pork sandwiches. We loved hearing the amazing story behind the creation of their company. A genuine bond formed over the course of this visit.
A few months later, James had the privilege of visiting Nicaragua for an extraordinary week filled with tours of factories and plantations. He was overjoyed to see that Perdomo was on the list of factories he would tour. After witnessing the methods and craftsmanship behind these remarkable cigars, He was truly humbled by the opportunity.
Weeks later, James shared a delightful dinner at the exquisite Boisdale in London with friends from his Nicaragua trip and sampled the latest release from Perdomo.
When we inquired with our distributor about the possibility of creating our anniversary cigar with this Perdomo, it seemed unlikely since no private blends were available outside the US. To our surprise, just a few days later, we received a call from the Nick himself, agreeing to produce our private blend. Over the past year, we have tasted a variety of cigars to find the perfect blend or should we say three!"
