Playa Maderas are the latest cigars from GQ Tobaccos. We have spent over 12 months developing this exclusive range of cigars. Hand Made in Nicaragua, these cigars offer what we are known best for at GQ Tobaccos, outstanding quality at an exceptional price. The Playa Maderas range has a Sungrown Maduro wrapper, with Nicaraguan filler and binder. A medium strength cigar which develops as it is smoked. As you can expect from New World cigars the construction is perfect, allowing for a flawless draw. The Playa Maderas is named after a stunning beach in Nicaragua, Playa Maderas translates to “woods beach” as the divine beach is surrounded by trees which seems apt with the wooden notes in this sweet and spicy cigar. The cigar starts off with a spicy taste which mellows and sweetens further down the cigar. The Playa Maderas is available in three different sizes; Petit Corona, Robusto & Belicoso. All sizes offer a fantastic smoke for a superb price.

I rate GQ as my favourite supplier with unbeatable prices, so had to try their own brand - cigar was near on perfect in this price range - a bit of a tight draw to start, but that's down to my preference of a relatively small cap cut when smoking belicosos or torpedos, used 1.5mm enhancer an inch into the cap and draw was perfect. Nice rich taste which only improved in smoothness the further down the cigar, wrapper was perfect with a even burn and good white ash - by the time I had an inch left, I wanted another one, very unusual for me - smoked in one sitting, couldn't put it down and no re-lights - highly recommend and will be buying again...well done GQ.

This cigar is everything you would expect from a Nicaraguan smoke, all the flavour profiles are there in abundance and it is a very good cigar indeed, I bought the Belicoso vitola - the only thing that stopped this cigar hitting 5 stars was a slightly wonky (slanted) burn throughout…. But then I wasn’t expecting perfection from a sub £9 quid stick. This will likely replace my usual daily smoke (£15+ per stick)…. Give em’ a go, you won’t regret it!!

what was a buy out y of curiosity just at turned into a possible go to when i cant affird to drop 20 quid.

For a home brand cigar, for the price this is a superb stick, nice level of spice to it all the way through, developed nice as described when smoked. A winner at the price, ill be buying some more. Im not a reviewer, lets say i enjoyed this alot and for the price its a five star smoke. Great with rum.
