The Crowned Heads Mil Días Topes Cigar is a beautifully crafted, medium-to-full-bodied Nicaraguan cigar from the acclaimed boutique cigar manufacturer Crowned Heads. Combining tobaccos from four different countries, Mil Días offers an exceptionally balanced and complex smoking experience, showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship for which Crowned Heads has become renowned.
The name Mil Días, meaning One Thousand Days in Spanish, refers to the approximately three years spent developing and perfecting the blend. First introduced in 2020, the range was created through a collaboration between Crowned Heads co-founder Jon Huber, master blender Eradio Pichardo and Luciano Meirelles.
Handmade at the TacaNicsa factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, the Mil Días Topes features an attractive Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder and a carefully selected blend of filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, Peru and Costa Rica. This distinctive combination delivers a wonderfully layered smoking experience, balancing richness, creaminess and subtle sweetness.
Measuring 4⅞ inches in length with a substantial 56 ring gauge, the Topes is a short, thick cigar finished with a distinctive pigtail cap. Introduced in 2023, it was the first regular-production addition to the original Mil Días range and features the largest ring gauge in the collection.
The Mil Días Topes opens with notes of sweet cream, roasted nuts and gentle baking spices, complemented by hints of cedar and earth. As the cigar develops, flavours of roasted coffee, subtle pepper and delicate floral sweetness emerge, creating a complex yet approachable profile.
The generous 56 ring gauge allows the blend to express its distinctive creamy character, while the shorter length provides a concentrated smoking experience. Its medium-to-full-bodied profile offers an enjoyable balance of flavour and strength without becoming overpowering.
