A slightly different style of tobacco to most on the market these day, Perique & Black Cavendish, seems like something is missing. Nothing missing, in fact its another great example of why Charles Rattrays tobaccos have stood the tests of time and are still made long after his shop in Perth has gone. When you first see the tobacco, its all uniform black cut leaf and the aroma isn't going to be turned into a perfume any time soon. Hints of sloes jam and a sour, vinegar note, but this should not put anyone off. The tobacco has a raisin, almost fruit cake taste from the Cavendish and the Perique gives a slight stewed plumb note. A great tobacco for those who do not like overly sweet aromatics.
