Cannon Plug is arguably one of the oldest tobaccos still in productions. Rumours of records for its use during the civil war have been circulating on line for years. What begins as delightful medium blend of Virginia tobaccos, pressed and aged for a cool and nutty flavour. Best brown flake is one of Samuel Gawiths most iconic tobaccos and Cannon brings a large helping of Honeydew into play.
The rich citrusy, woody aroma fills the room as soon as the bag is opened. Underlying this powerful scent, lurks the distinct Virginia aroma. This dense plug needs cutting fine to get the most from it. The smoke is cool and smooth and the strong topping really comes through. The sweet and sticky texture of the smoke coats the mouth and lingers. As with the Special Flake no2, Cannon plug is very heavily scented and ideal for serious Lakeland fans

I believe myself to be, as so many do, a man out of his time.
I'm quite content trying to keep a bowl of slightly too moist English flake lit on a blustery winter's day, where as the average "Normie" would much prefer the saccharin clouds of glycerin produced by those battery powered "sonic screwdrivers".
This plug contains the rich tobacco smell and intriguing top notes that would have filled a Victorian provisions store or Charles Dickens' coat.
Taking longer to prepare and pack than an off the shelf ribbon cut or flake, I find the routine of carefully slicing, rubbing, pulling and only then packing a very centering affair.
The prepared tobacco smokes wonderfully, and really does leave a slightly citrusy note that I'm sure I have picked out in expensive perfumes.
Immensely enjoyable.

I really really liked this plug. I didn't think I would like a floral plug until I had this, but its the best. really tasty and smooth. I found it great for any occasion. Equally, it tastes just like it smells. Totally converted.

One of my favourite tobaccos. If you are a Lakeland fan (and I am), you will like this. A very dense plug with a powerful floral aroma. Easy to prepare if you have a very sharp knife. Cut it carefully into very thin slices. It rubs out very easily. Smoke it slowly and enjoy the full on flavour. Not for the faint hearted and an empty stomach! Lord Nicotine is waiting to bite you...

Opening the sample bag I thought Glynn made a mistake and had sent me some perfume... An incredible smell, halfway between cologne and incense, very nice, even the missus said "Wow"! To my surprise, unlike other tobaccos, once I fired it up the flavour was more or less exactly the same as the unsmoked tobacco, a rich thick smoke, lovely and fulfilling... I wouldn't have it every day but after a Sunday roast this is heaven!!!
